El Salvador: $11 million for New Hotels

Through an agreement with FOMILENIO II, $11 million will be allocated for the construction of three hotels and a treatment plant in the municipality of Chiltiupán.

From a statement issued by Fomilenio II:

The Alliance El Zonte signed an investment agreement with FOMILENIO II and the municipality of Chiltiupán for $10.8 million that will improve the quality of life of more than 2,000 people in the locality, avoid pollution of the El Zonte River, maintain the attractiveness of the beach area and encourage a greater influx of tourists.

The Alliance is formed by the hotel companies Roberto Océano Inversiones, S.A. de C.V., Surfing Pacifica, S.A. de C.V. and Grupo Menéndez Zometa, S.A. de C.V.

With this new API, the El Zonte Alliance has committed to invest $7.4 million in the construction of three hotels, and requested the support of FOMILENIO II for the construction of a wastewater treatment plant, whose estimated total cost requires a public investment of up to $3.4 million.

Panama: Progress in Sanitation Project

The Cabinet Council has approved the allocation of $3.5 million for the acquisition of land where the wastewater treatment plant will be built in Panama Arraiján and La Chorrera.

El Salvador: $32 million for Water Treatment

Fomilenio II will finance feasibility studies for four treatment plant projects and a one technical assistance project, all submitted by private companies, estimated at $32 million.

These five studies will have a cost of approximately $570,000, provided by FOMILENIO II, and will be used to determine the feasibility of public investments. Collectively, investors plan to invest $31.7 million.

December 2011

Finally the government of El Salvador has reported the results of the tender for the works on the Diego Hoguin Boulevard.

A statement from the Ministry of Public Works, Transportation and Housing and Urban Development reads:

The Minister of Public Works, Gerson Martinez, reported today ahead of the anticipated date for the award, the winners of the competitive tender for the project to complete the Diego de Holguín Boulevard Segment II, which has been subdivided in Section II-A and Section II-B, and whose order to proceed with work will be given in the next few days.

El Salvador: Companies Bid for Infrastructure Projects

May 2010

FOMILENIO received bids to build three communal infrastructure projects.

They include improving roads at Cantón Jocotillo and paving the “Cantón Conacaste” area, both located in the municipality of Concepción Quezaltepeque. In the municipality of Agua Calientes, works include paving the “Cuesta de la Ceiba” street in El Chaparrón village.
