Dominican Republic: Tourism Record in 2017

In 2017 tourist arrivals to the country grew by 4% compared to the flow in the previous year, however, the latest figure was below the increases of 6% and 9% recorded in 2016 and 2015 respectively.

From a Report by the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic:

The cumulative arrival of non-resident passengers at the end of 2017, which includes non-resident foreign and Dominican visitors, reached the historic figure of 6,187,542 people, when 228,195 additional travelers arrived compared to 2016, making an interannual increase of 3.8%. 

Of this increase, it can be seen that 96.4% correspond to foreign tourists (219,907 passengers) and the remaining 3.6% to Dominicans living abroad (8,288 passengers).

When analyzing the composition of tourists according to regions of residence during the year 2017, it can be seen that 56.3% of them come from North America, followed in order of importance by Europe with 25.9%, South America with 12.8%, Central America and the Caribbean with 4.6% and Asia and the rest of the world with a joint participation of 0.4 percent.

Honduras: Tourism Figures in 2017

March 2018

Last year, 2.3 million tourists arrived in the country, spending $715 million, 3% more than in 2016.

The Central Bank of Honduras reported that " ...In the fourth quarter of 2017, spending by non-resident travelers in the country totaled US $714.8 million (54.2% of total service exports), 3.1% more than last year."

Dominican Republic: Tourist Arrivals Up 4%

February 2018

In the first month of 2018 the country registered the arrival of 567 thousand tourists, 4% more than those reported in January 2017.

From a Report by the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic:

In January 2018, 566,797 non-resident visitors arrived by air, of which foreigners represented 88.5% and non-resident Dominicans 11.5%, showing an interannual growth of 3.9%, equivalent to 21,170 additional passengers with respect to the same month in the year 2017.

Nicaragua: 2015 Tourism Figures

March 2016

Average daily spending per tourist fell by 13.4% compared to 2014, with average stays registered of 17 days.

The Central Bank of Nicaragua (BCN) has published the annual results of inbound and outbound tourism, corresponding to 2015.

Panama: Tourism Figures in 2014

February 2015

During the year 2.3 million tourists came into the country, of which 48% came from South America, 24.3% from North America, 12.7% from Central America and 2.5% of the Antilles.

The increase of 4.7% compared to 2013 did not solve the problem of low occupancy in hotels, because the supply of rooms also continued to rise. A drop of 20% was reported in financial income from this sector.
