"... In an explanatory note to the report, the Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic (AIRD) says that when the index falls below the 50 point barrier it is considered a negative signal. They explained that based on the weighted value, a score below 50 points means that manufacturing activity is declining."

Listindiario.com reports that   "...The AIRD said that in terms of the behavior of IMAM according to the size of the companies, the index fell significantly in small, medium and large companies, and rose in the Dominican microenterprises.  In the medium and large companies it was placed below the 50.0 barrier at 40.6 and 41.0 respectively."
