In 2013 the export supply of the region in the international market was focused on integrated electronic circuits, coffee, bananas, sugarcane and medical devices.

Diversification of exports is above the thresholds of the largest Latin American exporting economies.

Central America, September 22, 2014. The Secretariat of Central American Economic Integration (SIECA) through the Directorate of Economic Intelligence, presented a Policy Brief entitled "Diversification of export supply in Central America."

The report contains a comparative analysis of the level of export diversification in Central America from 1995-2013. The paper focuses on determining the rates of diversification of both the structure of products in the supply of exports from the region as well as the geographical distribution of export destinations.

Importantly, Central America from the mid 90s to date has shown a diversification of exportable phenomenon sponsored by greater integration into new international markets and promoting new exports by countries in the region.
