Delta announces daily Atlanta-Tegucigalpa flights

U.S.-based Delta Airlines has announced that starting Dec. 18, it will offer daily flights between Atlanta, Georgia and Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

The company said in a news release that the flights will be on a Boeing 737-700 that it will acquire in the next few days.
Christophe Didier, Delta's vice-president of sales and government affairs for Latin America and the Caribbean, said the company has wanted to fly to Tegucigalpa for some time to complete "the long series of Central American destinations which enjoy Delta's service."

Delta starts new flights between Atlanta and Tegucigalpa

Yesterday, Delta Airlines began direct flights between Atlanta and Tegucigalpa as a part of the expansion of its operations in Latin America.

The regional sales manager of Delta, Miguel Lopez, said that Honduras is the only country in Central America where Delta has three flights; it has been flying for the last two years to San Pedro Sula (north) and to the bay island of Roatan.

Delta to cut flights to Costa Rica

The current six weekly flights to Costa Rica will be reduced to "maybe" two per week, starting August 29.

The creation of a new base of operations (hub) at the John F. Kennedy (JFK) airport in New York will affect the availability of planes to Costa Rica.
At the Customer Service Center the airline confirmed that four flights from New York will be discontinued effective August 29.
