Delays in $70 million University Tender

At the request of the three companies that took part in the process, the proposals for the construction of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Panama, in Ancón, will be re-evaluated.

Wednesday, March 21, 2018

The companies Constructora San José, S.A., Consorcio Astaldi-CCG y Consorcio IBT-Knowledge filed claim actions to annul the resolution of the commission on February 23, after it decided not to evaluate the proposals, arguing that they did not meet the minimum requirements in the specifications. See details of the tender.

Prensa.com reports that "...The three complaints were accepted by the General Directorate of Contracting and through a report published on March 15 in Panama Purchases, it was noted that the evaluation committee of the tender "decided" to evaluate partially and not fully "the bids submitted, when this was not the right thing to do."

"... Now the Ministry of Health, which has been promoting this tender since December 2016, must set up a new commission to evaluate the technical and economic proposals, whose reference price is $70 million."
