Deal Between Nicaragua and Brazilian State

Businesspeople from Santa Catarina are seeking deals in Nicaragua with the support of a $10 billion credit line at 7% granted by the Bank of Brazil.

A trade mission by ProNicaragua intends to visit Brazil in the second half of the year to explore trade and reciprocal investment opportunities in sectors such as agribusiness, said Carlos Virmond, Secretary of International Affairs for the southern state of Santa Catarina in Brazil to Elnuevodiario.com.ni.

In the framework of a visit by an official delegation from the Brazilian state, "... the Brazilian ambassador in Nicaragua, Luis Felipe Mendona, announced that the Bank of Brazil has established a $10 million credit line for Nicaraguan entrepreneurs at a rate of 7% interest. "

"... Virmond said that the state of Santa Catarina has a gross domestic product of $99,000 million, 'which makes us a business partner with great prospects for trade relations and we see it is important to enjoy the tax benefits and subsidies that Nicaragua has'".

Brazil Trade Mission to Visit Panama

July 2009

Brazilian businessmen will visit the country between August 16th and 20th, looking to promote trade and bilateral investment.

The visit will take place as a stop in a trade tour covering Venezuela, Peru and Panama, and will be headed by the Brazilian Minister of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, Miguel Jorge. Each stop will feature business workshops, business tables and meeting with authorities.
