Cross-Border Business Meetings

Costa Rican companies from the south will hold meetings with their counterparts in Panama.

Companies from the agribusiness in Costa Rica, and from the tourism sector, services, food and agriculture sectors in Panama, will participate in the event organized by the Foreign Trade Promoter (Procomer) and the Joint Development of Competitiveness for the Brunca Region (FODM).

The event will consist of 20-minute meetings in which the companies will share their needs and interests and evaluate the possibilities of doing business in the short or medium term", published La Prensa Libre on its website.

Nicaragua - Colombia Business Roundtables

A meeting is being organized for July 6 and 7 for businessmen and government representatives from both countries in Managua in order to explore business opportunities.

Costa Rican businesses from all sectors will be involved in a business negotiation event with Panamanian companies on Thursday in San Jose.

According to Katherine Chavez, director of foreign trade of the Costa Rican Chamber of Importers (Crecex), the organizing body, 170 domestic firms will have about 30 minutes to present their products and services and finalize new business.

The 1st. Mesoamerican Business Meeting will be held from 4 to 7 of October, 2011 at the World Trade Center in Mexico City.

The meeting aims to promote trade among the participants, by gathering together in one place a diverse cross section of buyers and sellers of the region’s products.

The delegation consists of representatives from 40 companies in the infrastructure, aerospace, high technology and clean energy sectors among others.

This visit is the result of the momentum of new opportunities arising from the FTA with China. In terms of investment, Costa Rica is interested in benefiting from the knowledge and experience of Chinese companies to strengthen and modernize the national infrastructure.
