The figure was revealed by Javier Chamorro, executive director of ProNicaragua, during the Central American Nearshore Summit 2013, which is being held in the Central American nation.

"Costa Rica and Guatemala are the two nations that have attracted the largest number of companies in the outsourcing industry, with a total of 191. Following them are El Salvador (55), Nicaragua (25) and Honduras (14). The latter is the "newest" country in the sector, which broke into the areana just three years ago," noted an article in Estrategiaynegocios.net.

Among the advantages that the region has for this industry, Chamorro cited its geographical location which "... allows fluctuation from the time zones of the Eastern United States to the Central United States. It is an important detail when interacting with customers. "
