Country Brand Project Awarded

On January 21, Inguat awarded Regional de Comunicaciones S.A. the contract for the strategic development service of Guatemala Country Brand.

After August 2018 was declared void the tender to develop the Guatemala country brand, the Guatemalan Institute of Tourism (INGUAT) convened in December a new contest in which the award was achieved. See "New Attempt to Award Country Brand Project".

Guatecompras information indicates that the companies participating in the tender were Regional de Comunicaciones S.A. with a $1.4 million offer and Wurmser Ogilvy & Mather Publicidad S.A. with a $425 thousand proposal.

Herbert Castillo, President of Regional de Comunicaciones S.A. said to that "... First of all, it is important to understand that the country brand is a national project that involves both the private and public sectors."

Castillo explained that the work to be done "... It is about the way in which a country is perceived before the concert of nations, in other words, what the other countries think of Guatemala. These perceptions can be good, bad, favorable or unfavorable, and that can make a critical difference to the success of a country's business, trade, tourism, investment, as well as diplomatic and cultural relations with other countries."

Panama: Four Offers for Tourism Promotion

The agencies BBDO, BB & M, and the consortia Team Tourism 16-17 and La Union Zaga submitted similar bids for $4.5 million to design and produce the country's tourism campaign.

The Tourism Authority of Panama, held on Monday, March 28, tender act 2016-1-45-0-08-AV-008 805 to select an advertising agency to be in charge of the design and production of a national tourism advertising campaign.

Panama: $5 million Tourism Tender Postponed

January 2016

At the request of the bidders the Tourism Authority has extended the deadline for submission of bids for the domestic tourism promotion campaign, until 12 February.

The agencies Publicuatro Ogilvy & Mather, Starcom MediaVest Group, Cerebro JCM Publicidad, R Publicidad/ BBDO, Nexos Publicidad and BBM Publicidad, who are interested in bidding for the right to develop the campaign to promote domestic tourism, have asked the Government for more time to prepare their proposals.
