Costa Rica After Indian investments

Representatives from the government and private enterprise are looking to India for business opportunities and attracting investment.

From a press release from the Costa Rican Ministry of Foreign Trade (Comex):

A delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Trade, Anabel Gonzalez, will visit India next week, along with representatives from the Foreign Trade Promoter (PROCOMER) and the Coalition of Development Initiatives (CINDE). An intensive agenda of meetings with government officials and entrepreneurs will take place in three major cities of the country (New Delhi, Hyderabad and Bangalore) and the main objectives are to seek to promote the opening of communication channels, attracting investment and promoting exports.

The Minister will also be accompanied by the private sector representatives, Alexander Mora, president of the Chamber of Information Technology and Communication (PIERS) - Arnoldo Madrigal, a member of the Board of the National Bank and Kapil Gulati, General Manager and Director of Sylvania, who will join the delegation during their stay in New Delhi and Hyderabad.

This visit is part of efforts the country is making to engage more deeply in emerging economies.

The summit organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the Interamerican Development Bank (IDB) seeks to strengthen trade relations between the two regions.

New Commerce Minister in Costa Rica

Anabel González Campabadal, the country’s designated commerce minister, stated she will change and restructure the Commerce Ministry.

One of the priorities is landing an agreement with Cinde, the organization that fosters foreign investment in the country. The idea is to improve the relationship between both entities.
