Costa Rica to open trade office in New York

The Foreign Trade Promoter will open its office in New York on November 18 and expects to do the same in Los Angeles and Houston some time this year.

As part of reorganization efforts at the entity, Alvaro Chain was named regional director of the Central American Promoter, Emmanuel Hess, general manager of the organization, reported.
Procomer is also in the final stage of the process of opening an branch office in Panama. Lil Rodriquez, an assistant, will head that office.

Costa Rica Opens Trade Office in Spain

The new site will operate in Madrid on the same premises currently occupied by the Embassy of Costa Rica in the European country.

Costa Rican Trade Promotion Reopens Office in Chile

The Foreign Trade Promoter (PROCOMER) has reopened the Trade Promotion Office (OPC) in Chile.

This office opened its doors for the first time in 1999, when Costa Rica signed a free trade agreement with Chile. However, a few years ago PROCOMER decided to close it in order to establish a new business strategy that would revive the Costa Rican exports to the South American country.

Procomer Closes Two Offices in the U.S.

The Foreign Trade Promoter (Procomer) of Costa Rica announced closure of its offices in Los Angeles and Houston.

As part of a restructuring plan, operations are now concentrated at the Miami office.

The Minister of Foreign Trade (Comex) Anabel González, told, "The most important thing is that we are doing a strategic strengthening of the Miami office. This allows us to close the other offices."

Costa Rica opens trade office in Panama

October 2008

Costa Rica opened an Office for the Promotion of TRade (OPC) in Panama, within the framework of the Free Trade Agreement between the two countries.

For Emmanuel Hess, general manager of Procomer, "the opening of this office will strengthen the commercial relation between Panama and Costa Rica, which will allow us to benefit more from the economic boom of our neighbor."
