Costa Rica to Host Rice Sector Convention

A convention on the rice market and related technology will be held with companies in Central America and other regions from 27 to 29 May.

105 companies, from Latin America, the U.S., Canada, Europe and Africa are already registered for the event and it is expected that eventually there will be 600 members of the global rice industry taking part in the activity.

"In order to bring together members of the industry and help improve farming practices, increase rice consumption and promote the general rice trade in the Western Hemisphere the Rice Market Technology Convention (RMTC) seeks to provide information on new technology to producers, offering up-to-date importer / exporter market information. "

"The convention covers a wide audience by offering a variety of topics in the program. However, much of the convention program revolves around climate, global rice consumption patterns, seed varieties, machinery; along with other issues that tend to attract a large number of producers and millers. "
