Costa Rica to Host Microfinance Conference

The subject of the fifth Central American Microfinance Conference is "The Financial Crisis: Lessons Learned and New Strategies".

The conference will be held in Hotel Ramada Herradura, San José, Costa Rica from 25 to 27 August and is organized by the Central American Microfinance Network (Redcamif).

Experiences and knowledge will be reviewed that lead to a responsable financial system, the mission of Microfinance banks and contribute to reducing poverty.

Previous events have brought together over 1,000 participating Directors, Managers, policy makers and technical personnel from microfinance institutions, companies offering technical services, governments, consultants, academics and representatives of international finance organizations.

The event will be held under the theme "Competitive Microfinance with Social Impact" and will finish on Friday, August 29. It is being organized by the Central American Network of Microfinance Institutions (Redcamif) and the Microfinance Institution Network of Guatemala (Redimif).
