Costa Rica: $ 7 million for Sterilization Plant

Sterigenics International will install a sterilization and ionization services plant near the capital, San José.

According to plans, the plant will be ready in late 2011 and is expected to begin operations in January 2012.

The press release states:

BeamOne LLC, a subsidiary of Synergy Health plc, announced today that it will install a new plant in Costa Rica where they will provide services for sterilization using ethylene oxide.

The company, which focuses in medical device sterilization, will expand its current manufacturing facility to double its production capacity.

Located in El Coyol de Alajuela, it started operating in Costa Rica back in 2009.

“Beam One sterilizes medical devices by accelerating electrons against them. They serve other companies which manufacture and export these devices from Costa Rica”, reported Elfinancierocr.com.

The American firm BeamOne, which provides sterilization services of medical implements, is building a 5-million-dollar plant in Alajuela, Costa Rica.

Company president Ray Calhoun said the plant will be ready to open its doors by the end of 2008, and that it will have a staff of 24.
