Costa Rica: VII China-LAC Summit, San Jose 2013

On 26th and 27th of November 500 Chinese businessmen will take part in business meetings with 300 representatives from Latin American companies seeking to generate new business.

According to Anabel Gonzalez, Minister of Foreign Trade, they expect the involvement of 300 employers in the region and they have been organizing business meetings for the summit in the form of plenary sessions, parallel meetings and roundtable discussions at high-level .

The event is being organized by the Council for the Promotion of International Trade in China, together with the Government of Costa Rica, private enterprise and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the aim is for entrepreneurs to explore in one place the opportunities offered by the new China-Latin America relations.

"The Business Summit will facilitate building business relationships and strengthen existing ties, deepen knowledge of business culture and explore the possibilities available for trade and investment between the two regions," noted an article in

In addition, there will be a conference on Trade Promotion Organisations, with the participation of the promoters of trade and business associations who promote trade between Latin America and the Caribbean and China.
