La Cooperativa de Leche Dos Pinos and Ganaderos Industriales de Costa Rica are two companies who already have sanitation permits to start exporting to Russia and three others are completing the paperwork with the National Animal Health Service (SENASA).

"...The possibility of exporting food from the Costa Rica market is more relevant now that Russians are looking for new suppliers in the world, after closing their market to European products.

Costa Rica exports some goods to Russia, although the exchange is low. Last year we exported $18 million worth, down from the $48 million worth in 2012.
