Costa Rica Tenders Road Infrastructure Works

The National Roads Authority (CONAVI) is inviting bids for the "Design and Construction of the Paso Ancho Intersection on the Ring Road, National Road No. 39".

The project is located at the intersection of National Highway No. 39, and 213 Paso Ancho, southwest of the City of San José.

The purpose of the bidding is to hire the final design and detailed execution of the works for the intersection of the Ring Road (National Route 39) with the Paso Ancho road (National Route 213)

The expected date for submission of bids is 28 November 2012.

Costa Rica: Progress on Road Project to Limón

The final designs studies for the construction of 107 kilometers of Route 32 are supposed to be ready by the end of September.

From a statement issued by the Conavi:

The National Road Council (CONAVI) will receive, at the end of September, the final designs for the extension and renovation of 107 kilometers of route 32, in the section between the crossing of Rio Frio and the center of Limón.

The Mayoral office has started preliminary studies for building two ring roads in the north and east of the city, though the a cost estimate or financing methods are not yet known.

The Department of Works at the Municipality of Guatemala has announced that soil studies and geographical studies are being carried out, using topographical methods to determine the feasibility of creating a ring road in the north of the city and another in the east. The statements were confirmed to Prensa Libre by Alvaro Hugo Rodas, director of the municipal division.

Panama: Bid for Road Construction Contract

Fifteen companies expressed interest in the tender with a price tag of $18 million to build the road that will connect Cuango and Santa Isabel, in Colon.

The Decameron Group has reported that it is waiting for the start of this road works in order to start building its 320-room hotel project in Punta Cocoye, Santa Isabel.

The contest will be published in the second half of this year and the funds will come from a loan granted by CABEI.

Funding for the works comes from a $340 million loan that the Government of Costa Rica signed this week with the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE).
