Costa Rica: Telecommunications Plan Under Public Consultation

Up until December 26th public consultation will be carried out on the national telecommunications plan 2015-2021 proposed by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Telecommunications.

From a statement issued by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Telecommunications (MICITT):

The Ministry of Science, Technology and Telecommunications (MICITT), pursuant to the provisions of the regulations governing the telecommunications sector, reports that the proposed National Development Telecommunications Plan 2015-2021 (PNDT) is under Public Consultation.

The plan is an instrument of general guidance which sets objectives and goals for short, medium and long term measures to boost the development of Telecommunications and Information Technology, including goals related to universal access, universal service and solidarity. It consists of a Digital Agenda and Digital Solidarity Agenda.

The government of the Republic of Panama, has received funding from the Interamerican Development Bank (IDB) to partially cover the costs of a "Modernization Program of the Environmental Management for Competitiveness 1912/OC-PN." Funds from this financing will be allocated to eligible payments which will be carried out in virtue of a Loan Agreement.
