This is the last non-refundable payment agreed in 2007, when diplomatic relations were established between the two countries, with China granting assistance for $ 130 million dollars.

"We talked about future non-refundable investment projects and financial investments, these include construction of four roads in the province of Limón, which is the most commercially important road in the country. We are waiting for the proposal from China with cooperation and the funding mechanisms,” said the Costa Rican vice-chancellor.
