Costa Rica Kicks Off Campaign to Promote Tourism

With the objective of attracting more tourists from the United States, “Costa Rica Plus” offers discounts and promotions for reservations.

The advertising campaign, which cost $500,000, will run for eight weeks in American newspapers including: The New York Times, USA Today, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Los Angeles Times, and the magazine Travel Weekly.

According to, sub-manager and director of Marketing at the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT), Maria Amailia Revelo, said “We will develop an innovative and aggressive sales campaign in the United States by offering added value. This is a novel yet practical campaign that invites tourists to take action now that we have changed the model for making reservations, allowing travelers to make their reservations shortly before the dates of their trips.”
