Costa Rica Keeps Recovering its Air Connectivity

Starting October 17th, JetBlue will gradually restart operations with the flight between San Jose and Fort Lauderdale in Florida, and from October 25th it will start operating the route between the Costa Rican capital and New York.

From October 28th the airline plans to reactivate the flight between Orlando and San Jose. For the next month, JetBlue has also scheduled to fly every Saturday from Liberia to the city of Boston, Massachusetts and from November 7th it will fly to John F. Keneddy (JFK) airport in New York.

In Costa Rica commercial flights were suspended for more than five months due to the covid-19 outbreak, however, in the last few weeks the country has been gradually recovering its air connectivity.

A statement from the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT) reports that "... the information comes on the same day that the Minister of Tourism announced that residents from eight other states in the United States will be admitted to a total of 20 states, distributed in this way:

From September 1st: Connecticut, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Vermont and Virginia.
As of September 15: Arizona, Colorado, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Mexico, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Washington and Wyoming.
As of October 1st: if the epidemiological situation agrees, California.

Jet Blue to Start Flying to Guatemala

April 2021

Starting next April 15, the low cost airline will begin operating flights between La Aurora International Airport and the US city of New York.

In January 2020 Jet Blue announced that it had planned to start operating that route as of June 1 of that year, however, due to the health crisis the plans had to be delayed.

Costa Rica is Still Recovering Air Connectivity

November 2020

Avianca, Jetblue, Air Canada, Delta Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Volares, KLM, British Airways, Sun Country and West Jet, are the airlines that in November and December resume their flights to and from the country.

Due to the covid-19 outbreak, Costa Rican authorities decided to close their borders, but after a strict quarantine, air transport in the country began to be reactivated.

Mexican Tourists will be able to enter Costa Rica

September 2020

As of October 1st, citizens and residents of Mexico may enter Costa Rican territory by air, under the condition that they comply with the sanitary requirements imposed by the authorities to contain the outbreak of covid-19.

As part of the process of reactivating air connectivity, Jamaican tourists will also be able to enter and the authorization for California residents will be reconfirmed.

New Flight: Guatemala - New York

January 2020

The airline Jet Blue announced that as of June 1, 2020 it will begin operating one direct flight a day between the Guatemalan capital and the U.S. city.

"... JetBlue will offer service to and from Guatemala, with daily non-stop service between Guatemala City's La Aurora International Airport (GUA) and New York (JFK). You can book those flights starting today," the airline said on Jan. 17.
