Located in the district of Hatillo, the facility has the capacity to process six daily tons of waste.

Jhonny Araya, mayor of San Jose, explained that in the short term they’ll invest in special garbage trucks.

“We believe that Hatillo is the most appropriate place to start, as it generates the largest amount of waste each month. We want to change the way we handle garbage, and we are starting here”, remarked Araya when inaugurating the plant.
