Costa Rica Inaugurates Medical Device Factory

The multinational company Covidien has opened a $50 million plant, which will produce supplies for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

With an investment of approximately $50 million, the medical products manufacturer Covidien has inaugurated its new medical manufacturing facility in Alajuela on Thursday, which occupies 18,000 m2 in the Coyol Free Zone and will create 350 new jobs.

"From this site, the multinational company will produce devices for Covidien Vascular Therapies division (Vascular Therapies), including TED anti-embolism stockings, used in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases such as thrombosis. In addition, from next May, the company will also manufacture dialysis catheters in the new plant", states an article on Elfinancierocr.com.
