Costa Rica: Hotel Changes Ownership

The group formed by Garnier & Garnier Desarrollos and Enjoy Group acquired 100% of the shares of Hotel Punta Islita, which is located in Guanacaste and was previously owned by Grupo Islita.

The companies participating in the transaction informed through a statement dated November 1, that after the sale of the hotel, the enclosure will undergo a process of improvement and expansion.

Both parties decided not to disclose the agreed amount for the sale of the hotel complex located in the canton of Nandayure.

$200 Million Investment in Tourism Announced

The Canyon Group plans to invest more than $200 million in the construction of its first resort in Central America, which will be on the Papagayo Peninsula in Guanacaste, Costa Rica.

Costa Rica: Purchase and Remodeling of Allegro Papagayo

November 2015

It has been announced that the Canadian group Sunwing has bought the hotel Barcelo Allegro Resort Papagayo in Guanacaste, in which it plans to invest $50 million in remodelling.

The hotel will be renamed now "Royalton Papagayo" according to information published by Reportur, a Mexican publication specialising in tourism.

Four developments are in process of obtaining official and environmental permits, and could begin construction in mid-2014 or early 2015. reports: "One will be called Green Park and will be located in San Jose, Alajuela, another will be named Tech Park and will be in the district of Ulloa de Heredia, a third will operate as Life Free Zone & Business Park in El Coyol in Alejuela, and a fourth, called Lindora Park business park, will be located in Pozos de Santa Ana ".
