Costa Rica: Hotel Changes Ownership

The group formed by Garnier & Garnier Desarrollos and Enjoy Group acquired 100% of the shares of Hotel Punta Islita, which is located in Guanacaste and was previously owned by Grupo Islita.

The companies participating in the transaction informed through a statement dated November 1, that after the sale of the hotel, the enclosure will undergo a process of improvement and expansion.

Nacion.com reviews that "... The new owners plan to renovate the current inventory consisting of 54 rooms: 4 standard, 14 deluxe, 16 junior suite with swimming pool, 10 two bedroom villas and 10 more than three bedrooms. This while planning how to expand the hotel over the next few years."

Philippe Garnier, president of Garnier & Garnier, said that "... Hotel Punta Islita is a well-known brand and is ranked as the second best in Marriott's guest satisfaction index. Incorporating it into our project portfolio and making it a trial for Enjoy Group, which has a successful track record of innovative hospitality projects in Costa Rica, is a step fully aligned with our business philosophy."

Both parties decided not to disclose the agreed amount for the sale of the hotel complex located in the canton of Nandayure.

First Courtyard by Marriott Hotel in Guatemala

The hotel chain has announced that it will open in 2016, a 147-room Courtyard hotel in zone 10 in Guatemala City.
