Costa Rica: Hospital for $100 million

The Government of Costa Rica has announced the construction of a new hospital in the province of Puntarenas, with a loan of $100 million from CABEI.

Monday, October 8, 2012

The new structure will be located on a plot of 15 acres owned by the National Production Council, which was given as payment for debts that the NPC had with the IRS. The Ministry of Finance, in turn, gave it to the Social Security Department.

"Ileana Balmaceda, president of the Department, expects that this administration will put out a tender for the construction contract.

The chief said the moving the hospital to Barranca has the advantage that equipment will be further away from the salinity of the sea, a situation which reduces the life of medical instruments", reported Nacion.com.
