Costa Rica Establishes Diplomatic Relations With UAE

The Costa Rican State Department announced it has agreed to establish diplomatic relations with the United Arab Emirates.

In the past 4 years, Costa Rica established diplomatic relations with 20 countries.

The countries decided to establish relations in order to promote mutual understanding, strengthen friendship and cooperation between both countries in politics, economy, culture and science.

Following the path chosen by its neighbors Panama and Costa Rica, the Salvadoran government has announced the opening of diplomatic relations with China and a rupture with Taiwan.

Reactions to the announcement by President Salvador Sánchez Cerén did not take long. The US government expressed its opposition, stating that the decision will bring negative consequences for El Salvador, while opposition politicians accused the government of wanting to ease the way for China to be granted the concession to operate the port of La Unión.

Guatemala Opens Embassy in Turkey

The Guatemalan government intends to improve strategies to promote trade, investment, tourism, culture and cooperation between the two countries.

The main products that Guatemala exports to Turkey are bananas, cardamom and coffee, while the main imported from the European country are iron and steel, yarns and thread, and plastic materials, among others.
