Costa Rica: Growing Investment in Services

The company CSS Corp has started operating a second technological services center east of San José.

From a statement issued by the CINDE:

San José, Costa Rica, December 7, 2017 - With the potential to generate 200 jobs, the second technological services center of the company CSS Corp in Costa Rica has started operations. This new service center is located in Tres Rios, Cantón de la Unión, east of the Greater Metropolitan Area in the TerraCampus business park. The creation of job opportunities in the area resulting from this investment will have an impact on the quality of life of these two hundred families and will also help to strengthen the income received by institutions such as the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS), the Joint Institute of Social Assistance (IMAS) and the National Institute of Learning (INA). 

CSS Corp has carried out a process of transferring technical and managerial knowledge to Costa Rica from other highly competitive technological markets.  The company has also contributed with other Information Technology (ICT) companies to create, under the umbrella of PROCOMER, a "Central Gate" or Technological Cluster for Costa Rica, from where it seeks to position the country internationally and promote local linkages.

Roche Pharmaceuticals has announced an investment of $5 million to expand its service and distribution center, from where it serves 23 countries in the region where it operates.

Heredia, Costa Rica. -12 August 2015 The pharmaceutical company La Roche today inaugurated its new service and distribution center in the country, which will optimize its operations serving 23 countries in Central America and the Caribbean. Thanks to the investment of $5.5 million, the company will also expand its storage capacity for biotechnology products and implement cutting-edge technologies in the building, committing to the highest environmental and energy saving standards in the world.

Amway Could Move Operations To Costa Rica

October 2009

Direct marketing giant Amway is planning an operations center in Costa Rica.

Michigan newspaper "The Grand Rapids Press" obtained a confidential memo from the company to its employees. In it, the organization communicates that it is planning an "enterprise process center" in Costa Rica. This center would consolidate financial operations and processes for the entire Americas region.
