Costa Rica: Construction Prices up to May 2017

The price indices of buildings and social interest housing up to May 2017 recorded year-on-year changes of 5.9% and 3.6%, respectively.

From a report issued by the National Institute of Statistics and Census:

Price indices for construction based on February 2012 are a set of twenty statistical indicators, which measure the change in prices of materials used in the construction of different kinds of works. They are composed of the buildings price index, the social housing price index, and a group of nineteen price indices for raw materials and special services.

Buildings price index (percentage changes May 2017) 
Monthly: 1.35% (May 2017)
Interannual: 5.90% (June 2016 to May 2017)

The level of the building price index is 102,485, while in the previous month it was 101,121. The elements that showed the greatest positive contribution in the monthly variation of May 2017 were: transformers and black iron tubes.

The Index of social interest housing prices (percentage changes May 2017)
Monthly: 0.75% (May 2017)
Interannual: 3.61% (June 2016 to May 2017) 

The level of the index for prices of social interest housing is 103,452, while in the previous month it was 102,678. The elements that showed the greatest positive contribution to the monthly variation in May 2017 were: blocks and wooden frameworks.

The price indices of buildings and social interest housing up to April 2017 registered inter-annual variations of 5.13% and 3.70%, respectively.

Price indices for construction based on February 2012 are a set of twenty statistical indicators, which measure the change in prices of materials used in the construction of different kinds of works. They are composed of the buildings price index, the social housing price index, and a group of nineteen price indices for raw materials and special services. In April 2017, the variations of each of these price indices were:
