Costa Rica: Construction Prices up to April 2017

The price indices of buildings and social interest housing up to April 2017 registered inter-annual variations of 5.13% and 3.70%, respectively.

From a statement issued by the National Statistics Institute: 

Price indices for construction based on February 2012 are a set of twenty statistical indicators, which measure the change in prices of materials used in the construction of different kinds of works. They are composed of the buildings price index, the social housing price index, and a group of nineteen price indices for raw materials and special services. In April 2017, the variations of each of these price indices were:

Buildings price index (percentage changes April 2017) 
Monthly: 0.61% (April 2017)
Interannual: 5.13% (May 2016 to April 2017)

The level of the building price index is 101,121,  while in the previous month it was 100,509. 
The elements that showed the greatest positive contribution to the monthly variation of April 2017 were: PVC pressure tube and PVC conduit tube.

Price index of social housing (percentage changes February 2017) 
Monthly: 0.23% (April 2017)
Interannual: 3.70% (May 2016 to April 2017)

The level of the index for prices of social interest housing is 102,678, while in the previous month it was 102,444.
The elements that showed the greatest positive contribution to the monthly variation of April 2017 wee: PVC pipe and potable installation.

The price indices of buildings and social interest housing registered interannual variations of 4.51% and 1.89%, respectively up to July of 2017.
