Costa Rica: Businesses Seek to Reactivate the Caribbean

In the absence of concrete actions by the state, companies in the province of Limón have announced that they will promote economic development in the area using foreign investment.

Friday, August 29, 2014

In order to generate more projects to develop economic activity in the province of Limón, employers in the area are calling for foreign investors who have an affinity with the region.

The entrepreneur Ramiro Crawford told Elfinancierocr.com that "... One of the projects promoted the most by the previous government, called "Puerto Limon City" has been forgotten ... 'Of the original plan, the government will only run only three or four axes' ...That is why we believe that it is time that the zone looks to foreign investment and not be so dependent on the state for job creation."

"... This is why we are calling for investors from Africa, the USA and countries bordering the Caribbean. The idea is ... to share their ideas on possible investments or projects in the area, that can be executed. " At the meeting of investors called for Friday 29 August, "... it is expected that investors will arrive from South Africa, Mexico, Honduras, Panama and the United States (New York and Washington), as well as representatives from the companies APM, United Airlines, Nature Air and cruise companies and the financial sector.
