Costa Rica Approves FTA with South Korea

Once the agreement approved by the Assembly enters into force, 80% of Costa Rican products will be able to enter the Korean market duty free.

The Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Korea and the Republics of Central America was approved in the second debate, with 42 votes in favor. This trade agreement opens up export opportunities for the agricultural sector and addresses industry sensitivities, explained the Ministry of Foreign Trade.

San José, March 05, 2019. Today the Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Korea and the Republics of Central America was approved in the second debate, with 42 votes in favor. This agreement will serve as a tool to promote greater exports, investment and cooperation between the parties, thereby deepening our trade relationship with an economy that is a world leader in innovation.

Panama-Israel FTA Negotiations to Start

May 2014

In the first round of negotiations the issues of market access, rules of origin, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, investment and trade dispute settlement will be discussed.

Taking as a basis the Agreement on Economic and Trade Cooperation, signed between both countries in 2010, negotiations will start to establish a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the Republic of Panama and the State of Israel on May 11 in Jerusalem.

Costa Rica - European Association FTA Approved

February 2014

The Legislature has approved a Free Trade Agreement with the group made up of Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.

"The initiative states that another important aspect of the plan is that the EFTA countries are among the most developed in the world, as they have a high per capita income averaging $47,800 per year."
