Costa Rica: $19 million Tender for Roadworks

The Ministry of Public Works plans to tender the construction of an overpass on the road known as "rotondas" in October, in order for work to start in January 2017.

A statement by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport said that "...This work is part of the modernization of the ring road, which will also impact the University of Costa Rica, Rotonda de la Bandera and Guadalupe, where overpasses will also be built."

Minister Carlos Villalta explained that estimated amount for the construction of the underpass at the Garantías Sociales roundabout is $19 million. 

In regards to the projects for construction of overpasses in front of the Faculty of Law at the Bandera roundabout and Guadalupe, Villalta explained that they have not yet set a construction start date. At the moment they are in the phase of analysis of the process of expropriations.

The construction of an overpass near Rancho Navarra, in San Salvador, is estimated at $25 million and could be tendered in the first half of this year.

The project is for an aerial roundabout that would connect La Cima to Vista Hermosa, in addition to providing a pedestrian crossing. Construction could start in the second half of this year, according to the Ministry of Public Works.

Panama: Tender for Roadworks Announced

September 2015

Tender specifications are beign prepared for work on the expansion to four lanes of several sections of roads and construction of 200 kms of roads and internal roads in the district of La Chorrera.

From a statement issued by the Ministry of Public Works in Panama:

During the Cabinet Council held in the school Moisés Castillo Ocaña in La Chorrera, the Minister of Public Works, Ramon Arosemena Crespo announced the widening to four lanes from the Market of La Chorrera to the Nicolas Solano Hospital, and also the expansion to four lanes of the road going from the old road to sector Vacamonte.

Guatemala: Highway Tender Announced for $26 million

March 2013

In early April a tender will be launched for a bypass on the route from El Tejar to Chimaltenango, with an approximate cost of $26 million.

Alejandro Sinibaldi, Minister of Communications, said that about six months ago the engineering and technical studies were started in order to determine the best location for the construction of the work.
