Costa Rica: $15 Million in Medical Devices

The Microtechnologies firm will be moving its operation in the country to a new 9,500 square meter plant which will be built in Coyol, province of Alajuela.

The new plant will be built by the manufacturer of medical devices operating under the free zone regime and will house all of the staff currently working at facilities which the company operates in another free zone.

The construction project, which is currently in the phase of earthworks, "... will have an area of ​​9,500 square meters, and will have two floors which will house both operations and administrative offices."

The three major divisions of the company, which was founded with American capital, are sensors and switches, engineering and manufacturing components. Carlos Mora, plant manager, told Elfinancierocr.com that "... we are producing about 10.2 million sensors and switches, 255 million engineering components of different types and more than 2.5 million parts in manufacturing services."
