Copa Airlines Carries 20% More Passengers

In the first five months of 2013, the airline carried 5.8 million passengers, representing an increase of 20% compared with the same period last year.

If the trend continues, the company will exceed its estimated 11 million passengers scheduled for this 2013. Copa Holdings, owner of the shares of the Panamanian airline Copa Airlines reported that its transport capacity has increased by 19%.

According to Pedro Heilbron, CEO of Copa Airlines, the airline will end this year with a fleet of 90 aircraft, as this year it will receive seven new aircraft. The company reported net income of $113.8 million.

For this year, 2013, the airline will institute three new direct flights, including to Boston, USA, which will be available from 10 July.

Copa Airlines Sees 13% Traffic Increase in March

The airline moved 13.5% more passengers when compared to the same period of 2009.

Copa reported that its passengers flew 663.8 million miles on March 2010, versus 584.7 million miles on March 2009.

“Copa operates 150 daily flights to 24 countries in North, Central and South America and the Caribbean while Aero República flies to 10 cities in Colombia”.

Copa Airlines Traffic Up 16%

November 2009

In October, Copa Airlines carried 16.6% more passengers than the same month of 2008.

This month was also the lowest so far 2009 (81.9%).
