Copa Airlines Announces Expansion Plans

The airline has announced the start of services to four cities this month and three new destinations from December.

A press release by Copa Airlines reads:

Copa Airlines announces expansion plans beginning on June 15 when it will launch a service to four cities and add three new destinations

Copa Airlines will expand its Hub of the Americas in Panama from 4 banks of flights to 6, and this week the airline begins service to four cities: Toronto, Canada, Porto Alegre and Brasilia in Brazil, and Nassau in the Bahamas.

In addition, Copa Airlines announces three new destinations starting in December 2011: Asunción, Paraguay, Cucuta, Colombia, and Chicago, USA, totalling seven new destinations in 2011.

Copa Airlines Announces Four New Destinations

January 2012

Copa Airlines will operate 4 new destinations starting from June. The destinations are: Recife, Brazil; Guanacaste, Costa Rica; Las Vegas, USA; and the island of Curacao.

A press release from Copa Airlines states that “Passengers departing from or transiting through the Hub of the Americas, the hub of Copa Airlines, Tocumen International Airport in Panama, via these new flights will have access to a network which consists of a total of 63 destinations in 29 countries throughout North, Central and South America and the Caribbean.

Copa Announces New Flight to Chicago

June 2011

As of December 15, 2011, Copa Airlines will operate a new nonstop service between Chicago and Panama.

Chicago will then become the sixth Copa Airlines destination in the United States. The airline announced the new service at a press conference held in New York to celebrate the fifth anniversary of its listing on the New York Stock Exchange and to announce its expansion plans.

Starting June 2011 it will open three new destinations to the cities of Toronto, Canada; Porto Alegre, Brazil and to Nassau, Bahamas.

Copa Airlines, subsidiary of Copa Holdings, SA {NYSE: CPA} announced that from June 2011, in order to offer more options to passengers, it will increase daily flight frequencies to various countries in its extensive route network, it will offer more convenient schedules and will open three new destinations to the cities of Toronto, Porto Alegre and Nassau.

COPA has new Guatemala - Panama flight

October 2008

COPA airlines announce that it will increase by one its flights on the Guatemala-Panama route starting in December.

With this new service, Copa will be offering 49 weekly flights from Guatemala: two daily to Nicaragua, one to Costa Rica and four to Panama.
The manager of the airline in Guatemala, Rudy Keller, said that expansion plans for the country include the construction of a new VIP waiting room for its passengers at the La Aurora International Airport.
