Construction Projects Planned in Central America

A mixed-use residential complex in Panama, an industrial complex in Costa Rica, and two apartment towers in Guatemala are some of the projects that are planned for development in the coming months in the region.

The interactive platform "Construction in Central America", compiled by the Business Intelligence Unit at CentralAmericaData, includes an up to date list of public and private construction projects for which environmental impact studies (EIA) were submitted the respective institutions of each country in May 2017.

Details of some projects:

In Panama, Grupo Intra, S.A., Inversiones Costa Brava, S.A., Diamanda Industries, Inc. and Fedelmar, S.A. submitted an EIA to develop, in an area of 24 hectares, a project that combines different residential densities with commercial areas. The project, entitled "Lotificación del Desarrollo Residencial y Comercial Fedelmar", will be located in the district of Juan Díaz, district and province of Panama, and will require an estimated investment of $72 million.

Obras Avanzadas, S.A. submitted an EIA to build, in Zone 15 of the City of Guatemala, two towers with 9 levels each that will house 88 apartments, the infrastructure will include 4 basements with parking for residents and visitors. According to the study, the project is called "Epic 15" and the estimated amount of investment is $14 million.

In Costa Rica Fiduciaria MCF S.A. submitted an EIA to build 44 office-warehouses in an industrial complex that will have administrative offices, sidewalks, internal streets, parking lots, green areas and a wastewater treatment plant. The project is called "Complejo Industrial Acelera" and will be located in the district of Llorente, province of Heredia. According to the document, approximately $10 million will be invested.

$61 million to be Invested in Real Estate Development

An environmental impact study has been submitted for the construction in San Miguelito, Panama, of a mixed complex consisting of six apartment towers and a tower for commercial use.

Data from the Interactive System "Construction in Central America", compiled by the Business Intelligence Unit at CentralAmericaData, indicates that in June Inmobiliaria Panamá Bella S.A. submitted an Environmental Impact Study (EIA) to the Ministry of the Environment.

Costa Rica: $56 million in Residential Projects

July 2016

Vertical and horizontal residential condominiums in the provinces of San José, Heredia and Cartago are some of the projects for which environmental impact studies were submitted in May 2016.

The report "Construction projects in Costa Rica in May 2016"  prepared by the Business Intelligence unit at CentralAmericaData.com, provides an updated list of major construction projects for which environmental impact assessment (EIA) studies were submitted to the National Environmental Technical Secretariat (SETENA) in May.
