Construction Projects Planned for 2020

A sports center in Costa Rica, a shopping center in El Salvador and an office building in Nicaragua are part of the investments planned for the coming months in Central America.

In Costa Rica, the Municipality of Barva plans to build a sport, cultural and recreation center on a 14,000 square meter site. The site will have a skate park, an artistic plaza, a pet area and a building with bathrooms, warehouses and offices. According to the study, about $28 million is expected to be invested.

Bamboo Development Inc. plans to invest $18 million in the construction of a shopping center that will house fast food restaurants, a supermarket and will offer 84 stores. The document explains that the project will be in the department of San Miguel, El Salvador.

The Central American Bank for Economic Integration has begun construction in Managua, Nicaragua, of an office building that will have five levels and a basement. According to the study, the international organization will invest about $16.5 million in the operation of its headquarters.

$63 million Real Estate Investment

June 2018

East of the Costa Rican capital, in Curridabat, plans are underway to build a mixed development consisting of an office and apartment tower, and a shopping center with 200 stores, cinemas, food courts plus 1,200 parking spaces.

The project, according to the Environmental Impact Study (EIA) submitted in February of this year to the Setena, also includes expansion and remodeling of the hardware store EPA. 

Shopping Centers to Be Constructed in Central America

November 2017

In the past 12 months, 165 environmental impact studies, valued at $350 million, were submitted for the development of shopping centers, supermarkets, department stores and other types of commercial buildings in the region.
