Construction: Investments for the New Year

A mixed-use building in Panama, a residential tower in Guatemala and a farm for growing seafood are part of the investments announced in Central America for the beginning of the year.

The interactive system "Construction in Central America", from the Trade Intelligence Unit of CentralAmericaData, includes an up-to-date list of public and private construction projects to be developed in the coming months.

Details of some of the Environmental Impact Studies presented recently:

Inmobiliaria K73 S.A. plans to build a 53-story building in the Juan Diaz district of Panama that will include commercial space, restaurants and a hotel area. For the project called "Hotel K73", about $33.7 million will be invested.

Villacar, S.A. is planning to build a 13-level residential tower in Zone 11 of Guatemala City, which will house 83 apartments. The document specifies that for the project called "Amara 11" which will require an investment of close to $4.9 million, the apartments will occupy a roofed area of 7,657 m2.

In Costa Rica, the Punta Morales Oyster Farmers Association is planning to build an enclosure in the district of Chomes, province of Puntarenas, which will be used to grow seafood. Approximately $4.8 million will be invested in the project called "Zoocriadero de invertebrados marinos, cultivo de la ostra pacifico".

Central America: $1.6 billion in High Rise Housing

August 2017

Between May 2016 and April 2017, 176 environmental impact studies to develop high rise residential projects were submitted in the countries of the region.
