Construction: $220 Million for Educational Centers

From January to June 2019, 52 environmental impact studies were presented in Central America to build new education centers and carry out expansion and remodeling work in other institutions.

The interactive platform "Construction in Central America", compiled by the Business Intelligence Unit at CentralAmericaData, includes an up to date list of public and private construction projects for which environmental impact studies (EIA) were submitted to the respective institutions of each country.

Costa Rica is the country with the largest investment, with nearly $131 million in projects dedicated to the construction of new schools and the expansion of existing schools, corresponding to 30 environmental impact studies submitted from January to March this year.

In Panama, 16 EIAs were presented, which together add up to an investment of approximately $85 million. The construction of an educational center near the capital, which will be composed of three buildings and its estimated investment is $13 million, stands out.

For the semester in question in Guatemala, four studies were presented for the construction of educational infrastructure, which together add up to an approximate investment of $3 million.
