Congress on Wellbeing Tourism in Costa Rica

The Wellness and Spa Congress will be held from August 31 to September 2 in La Fortuna de San Carlos, with the participation of eight exhibitors from Spain, the United States, Mexico and the United Kingdom.

The First Wellness and Spa Congress of Costa Rica will be held from August 31 to September 2, 2018 at the Rafael Arenas Convention Center in La Fortuna de San Carlos. 

The Costa Rican Tourism Institute, organizer of the event, explained in a statement that " ... the symposium of the congress includes various topics of interest such as global trends on wellness tourism 2019 and how to integrate it into lifestyle, as well as news on trends such as thermalism, thalassotherapy, hydrology and hydrotherapy, together with the latest in state-of-the-art dermo-cosmetic treatments for use in thermal centers and spas."

"... The updated topics on "wellness marketing", " corporate wellness " and how "sustainable wellness" integrates cultural traditions and natural environments will also be explored. Finally, topics such as "Blue Zones" such as the case of the Nicoya Peninsula will be covered, as well as recommendations to create a solid welfare product and even how to design it. "

The Wellness Tourism Business

Using the Pura Vida Wellness concept, Costa Rica intends to take advantage of a global market valued at $563 billion, with tourists whose average spending exceeds 130% of global average tourist spending.

The event, which will take place on 22 and 23 November, seeks to foster industry growth in the Spa and wellness tourism.

The activity will be held in La Fortuna in San Carlos where hoteliers will participate as hosts of the country. "A number of leading experts will meet to discuss and publicize global trends in treatments in this area," said the event coordinator, Stephanie Villegas.
