Congress on Sustainable Tourism Investments

On November 13th and 14th Costa Rican entrepreneurs of hotel brands, investment funds and real estate developers will be meeting in Costa Rica to discuss sustainable investments in the industry.

The event is being organized by the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT) and will take place at the Hotel Real Intercontinental.

Nacion.com reports that the congress is called "...Costa Rica Sustainable Hotel & Tourism Investment Conference and ... will focus on sustainability, a topic of great relevance and momentum in the world tourism industry in which Costa Rica is an important actor."

"... On this particular topic, Arturo García Rosa, president and founder of SAHIC, explained: "The concept of sustainability is always in the hands of the development of the industry, but this is the first time we have organized a conference whose central axis is sustainable growth and that generates great new opportunities for our partners."

The Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT) has given these awards to a group of hotels and tour operators, which carry "leaves” one to five. A rating of five "leaves" means best environmental practice and social sustainability.
