Conference on Structural Engineering

From August 5th to 7th construction and engineering companies will be meeting in Costa Rica to discuss issues related to construction and structural design of buildings, bridges and special structures.

The congress is being organized by the Costa Rican Association of Structural and Seismic Engineering and will bring together companies in the construction sector from 5th to 7th of August at the Barcelo San Jose Palacio Hotel.

Public Works As Investment Fund Assets

The new regulations for investment funds in Costa Rica allow for finances to be raised for construction, energy, transportation and public infrastructure projects.

The amendment to the General Regulation on Managing Companies and Corporate Investment Funds was adopted on 23 June. With this change, any investment project, from the construction of houses to hydropower stations, can be financed and developed using a special investment fund which will be known as Infrastructure Project Investment Funds.

Panama: Lack of Funding for Canal Bridge

The Canal Authority will go to the international market to seek funding to complete the construction of the third bridge, which is 34% complete.

The Panama Canal Authority (ACP) announced today its intention to partially finance on international capital markets construction of the bridge over the Canal on the Atlantic side.

Panama: $27 million for Basic Infrastructure

September 2015

Financing has been approved for various infrastructure projects such as storm drains and sanitary systems in Ancon, Panama District.

The Budget Committee has approved a transfer of a share belonging to the Ministry of Finance in the amount of six million balboas to process the contract with the company MCM GLOBAL, SA, for the construction of basic infrastructure.
