Conceptual Renewal of Tourism in Costa Rica

In the next National Congress on Tourism a proposal will be made to define a new vision based on real differentiation axles, chains of products, international positioning, environmental excellence, and human talent.

From a statement issued by the National Chamber of Tourism (CANATUR):

In the framework of the XVIII National Congress of Tourism it is expected that CANATUR will formulate a New Vision for Tourism in Costa Rica

- Meeting with the participation of five international exhibitors
- Congress will end with the presentation of the results to Luis Guillermo Solis, President of the Republic.

Wednesday November 5, 2014. Defined as the last step of the process for the creation of a Vision for Tourism for the next few years, the National Chamber of Tourism (CANATUR) will be bringing together representatives and industry leaders to discuss the issues on which the tourism industry must make urgent decisions, in order to ensure Costa Rica's competitiveness as a tourist destination.

The meeting of the tourism sector will be developed in the framework of the XVIII edition of the National Tourism Conference, during the 10th and 11th of November, in which there will be an expansion of the discussion in the tourism industry led by CANATUR which has been held over the past twelve months.

Panama: $12 Million for Tourism Promotion

June 2015

The government has announced that in the second half of 2015 it will provide $12 million through the purchase of international advertising and direct activities with travel agencies.

The investment will be over $100 million in the period which covers 2016-2019. The tender with the international agency of global marketing and public relations is in its final stage, and the event is expected to be held in August.

Panama Cancels International Advertising Contract

The Tourism Authority of Panama has terminated the contract for $1.3 million signed with Conde Marketing to promote the country during the transmission of boxing matches in Argentina.  

The contract, which was renewed in 2014, included the promotion of Panama as a tourist destination during the transmission of 36 boxing matches on the television channel TyCSports.

Panamanian Tourist Information on Phones

Maps, interactive tours, destinations to visit, benefits for travelers, events and much more can be viewed at Visit Panama using mobile devices.

As part of a strategy being implemented by the Tourism Authority of Panama (ATP), local tourism information can now be viewed from cell phones. The goal is to exceed 2 million visits per year, and increase the number of pages visited by tourists coming into the country.

Nicaragua to host Tourism Marketing Congress

October 2008

The National Chamber of Tourism and the University of Central America, will host the First International Congress of Tourism Marketing next week.

The encounter, which will be held on October 20 and 21 at the Holiday Inn Hotel, will have the participation of experts in marketing and tourism who will discuss marketing topics and services to attract tourist to the country.
