Luis Carlos Chaves, president of the Chamber of Information and Communication Technologies (CAMTIC) told elfinancierocr.com that "... The industry has continued to grow and there is strong demand for 2016," referring to business growth and places of employment.

According to the survey conducted by El Financiero companies in the sector, those services where demand is most concentrated include "Cloud services" and those that focus on operations, big data, business analytics, biometric security solutions, virtual reality and Augmented Reality and the Internet of Things (IOT).

Despite optimistic expectations, Camtic also mentioned specific industry challenges, such as "... a deficit of 8,000 computer programmers, due to the demand from high-tech companies and services that are installed in the country, and the creation of a" bubble" in wages, lack of public policies and the shortages in training in universities."
