Companies Bid for Divisa-Chitré Highway in Panama

Five companies submitted their bids for widening the road between Divisa and Chitré.

They are “Constructora Meco”, “CC Construcciones de Centro América S.A.”, “Consorcio Benito Roggio Panamá S.A.- Benito Roggio e Hijos S.A”, “Constructora Urbana S.A.” and “Hidalgo e Hidalgo S.A.”. The lowest priced bid was presented by Hidalgo and Hidalgo S.A., at little under $104 million.

“Mitzila Espino, general secretary for the Public Works Ministry, explained they will organize a technical commission to evaluate the proposals. Such commission will consider each company’s expertise and financial capability”, reported Prensa.com.

Offers Received for Two Infrastructure Projects in Panama

Six companies have submitted bids for highway infrastructure works worth $75.5 million in the province of Los Santos, south west of the Panamanian capital.

The six companies were, Consorcio Benito Roggio Panamá S.A., Globetec Panamá S.A., Constructora Santa Fe, Hidalgo & Hidalgo S.A., Constructora Meco S.A., and Constructora Urbana S.A.

Panama: Highway Widening Begins

On 17 July the Minister for Public Works will give the order to procede with the upgrade of the highway between Divisa and Chitré.

The $109.9 million project will be carried out by the constructor Benito Roggio.

José Nieves Burgos, from the Department of Public Works (MOP), commented that work is already underway to remove billboards and signs.

Argentinean construction company Benito Roggio won a contract to build the Divisa-Chitré highway in the province of Herrera.

The evaluation committee took into consideration technical specifications, experience, responsibility and reasonable pricing. Roggio’s bid was priced at $109.9 million.
