Variation of regional imports 
Between the first quarter of 2017 and the same period in 2018 the import value of communication radios in the region fell by 6%, going from $37 million to $34 million.

In contrast to the behavior of total imports, in the periods in question purchases made from Israel increased considerably, rising from $300,000 to $12 million. 

Imports by country 
From January to March of this year, the main importing country in Central America was Honduras with $15 million, followed by Costa Rica, with $6 million, Panama, with $5 million, El Salvador, with $4 million, Nicaragua with $3 million and Guatemala, with $2 million.

Origin of imports 
In the first quarter, 34% of the value imported into Central America came from Israel, 20% from the US, 17% from China, 3% from Spain and 2% from Mexico.

In the first quarter of the last seven years, Israel was largest origin market for imports, since in 2012 it represented 14% of total purchases and in 2018 that share fell to 34%.
