The opportunities derived from the habit of buying online, together with the current business scenario, are creating an environment where the offer of different brands of clothing and restaurants are brought together in virtual platforms.

With the spread of covid-19, social distancing measures were decreed in the region's markets, a situation that led to radical changes in consumption habits and shopping methods.
Today, not only supermarkets have migrated to digital formats, but in Costa Rica in July, Avenida, a virtual shopping mall, began operations, which for now concentrates 21 brands of restaurants and clothing, and plans are to bring together 150 stores by the end of 2020.
Elfinancierocr.com reviews that "... The main difference with other similar initiatives in the country is the collection system. In Avenida, no brand pays a monthly fee to be part of the site nor do they pay a registration or support price. The only charge made will depend on sales."
The article adds that "... In the virtual mall model, Avenida is in charge of logistics, offering the product, making the payment and giving support to each shop, for example, with video tutorials or connecting Instagram buttons of each brand so that they address the URL of each product within the platform and, through feedback, enabling new features on the page."
The developers of the project explained that the platform works with the delivery companies Glovo and Red Logistic, which make same-day deliveries to locations within the Greater Metropolitan Area.
Lincoln Plaza began operating a virtual platform in which customers can purchase products that are sold in the physical stores that already operate in the property.
EPK, Uno Sports, Claire's, Totto, Xiami, Miniso, TOYS, Liberia Internacional, Opticas Munkel, Aldo Nero, Ibiza and GNC, are some of the stores that will offer their products through the new digital platform.
Maintaining proper inventories to meet demand, having a robust logistics system and an electronic sales channel that protects your customers when they make a purchase, are part of the challenges that businesses face in this new reality.
With "Black Friday" and Christmas approaching, commercial establishments in the region are beginning to apply their sales and promotion strategies, with which they will try to recover part of their income.
In a situation where consumers are less and less willing to spend their time on the move, and where they value the convenience businesses provide when shopping, digital supermarkets are beginning to gain market in the region.
New companies that have emerged as supermarkets that do not have physical sales areas and are operated entirely online have found acceptance in some Central American countries.
In order to grow their brands, one of the bets that restaurants in Costa Rica are making is to market their products in supermarkets.
In the Costa Rican market there are companies that have taken several years to begin the process of marketing their products in supermarkets, because they must meet multiple requirements, such as health records, labeling standards, bar codes, among others.
