Colombians Offer Franchises in Guatemala

Representatives from the Institute for Exports and Fashion in Colombia are visiting the country in search of investors who wish to form strategic alliances.

The visit by the Colombians will be held prior to the textile and fashion show Colombiamoda 2013, to be held in Medellin from 23rd to 25th of July.

According to Carolina Fernandez, business coordinator of the Institute for Export and Fashion (Inexmoda), "Colombian brands are interested in making alliances and offering franchises in Guatemala". Among the companies interested in entering the country are: Arturo Calle, which sells clothing for executive men and Agua Bendita, which sells lingerie and swimwear.

According to Fernandez, Guatemala also has potential to sell its own brands, primarily in the area of ​​jeans. "They are very strong in the development of these garments, but they are sold under other international brand names, they could take better advantage by marketing their own brands, that's where the business is," said the entrepreneur who in his visit to the country will meet with representatives from the domestic textile sector, and trade and industry.

Textiles: Colombia - Central America Business Roundtable

On March 12nd Colombian entrepreneurs in the textile and clothing sector will be gathering in San Jose with Central American companies interested in offering products from the South American country.

It is expected that 70 Colombian entrepreneurs will take part in the event, to be held at the Hotel Real Intercontinental Multiplaza Mall, presenting their textile products to the Central American market.
