The production of soft washed Arabica coffee for the last twelve months reached 12.3 million bags weighing 60 kilos, 8% more than the 11.5 million bags produced in the corresponding previous period.

Colombia produced 12.3 million bags of coffee in the last 12 months
* During the course of the 2015 (January-March) coffee crop up 8%
* Coffee exports from Colombia during the last twelve months (April 2104 - March 2015) exceeded 10.9 million bags.
The production of coffee from Colombia, the leading producer of soft washed Arabica coffee, grew 8% during the last twelve months (April 2104 - March 2015) and reached 12.3 million bags of 60 kilos, which contrasts with the 11.5 million bags harvested in the same period one year ago .
The increased production and productivity which has occurred steadily in recent years is the result of the efforts by coffee producers and the Federation to raise the productive capacity of farms through coffee renovation projects.

Up until March 5, the volume exported from the current 2017/18 harvest amounted to 3.6 million bags, 17% more than was reported on the same date of the 2016-2017 cycle.
According to figures from the Honduran Coffee Institute (Ihcafe), the value of sales of the grain abroad showed a behavior contrary to the volume exported. "...The value of exports is $446.5 million, showing a decrease of 1% compared to $450.5 million."
Between March 2015 and February this year the country achieved a production of 14.3 million bags of 60 kilos, 16% more than the nearly 12.4 million in the previous harvest.

Bogotá - Colombia, the largest producer of mild washed arabica coffee, recorded a harvest in February of 1.1 million bags each weighing 60 kilos and that the growth rate has been maintained, however, they remain on alert because of the effect of the intense El Niño.
In January domestic production exceeded one million bags each weighing 60 kilos, making this the the best monthly result in the last seven years.

Colombia continues to consolidate itself as the first producer of mild washed arabica coffee in the world, a result of the coffee renovation program undertaken by the union in the past five years which has led the country having coffee production which is younger, more technical, and better adapted to meet the challenges of climate variability and pests.
